This is a super simple, easy, and delicious way to help a new mama poo! Stewed fruit is delicious with a dollop of yogurt or scoop of ghee on top, served over molasses congee, or on it's own. The cinnamon helps ignite digestive fire, and cooking it all well helps hydrate and break down the fruit so that it is easily digested. Postpartum Stewed Fruit
Ingredients water 3 med/lg apples 3 med/lg pears 1/2 t cinnamon 1/2 c raisins
Instructions Core apples and pears and cut into small chunks. Put enough water in a medium/large sauce pan to cover the bottom of pan. Add chopped fruit. Add cinnamon and raisins. Cover and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples and pears start to get really mushy. Enjoy the aromas....Serve and eat warm. Notes: Leftovers keep for up to a week in a sealed container in the fridge. Eat 1-2 cups each day to help with constipation.
